Varieties

UK petits pois are unique because they are a varietal crop instead of being size graded out of the whole pea crop. Many retailers and manufacturers think this makes them the sweetest and best tasting peas in the World. traditionally sucessful varieties include Waverex and Norit.

Good For...

Graded by their tenderness, the sweet young tender 'petits' are great for eating alone and need minimal cooking as an accompanying plate vegetable, the firmer textured peas are good for processing into soups and sauces, ready meals and baby foods as they can hold up to a longer process.
