Welcome to J E Hartley, where we combine a long family tradition of farming in North Yorkshire with over twenty five years experience of processing and freezing peas and root crops.

To meet the ever changing requirements of our manufacturing, wholesaling and food service customers, we have invested over £5 million in the latest equipment and systems for our freezing plant in the Yorkshire countryside.

Located close to our own pea fields this 11 acre site includes a plant with a production capacity of 15000 tonnes of high quality IQF vegetables per year. This is supported by our on site cold storage facility which can hold up to 13000 pallets of produce.

We employ eighty-five staff including family members, local people and itinerant workers. We freeze peas and roots from several thousand acres of our own land, in the surrounding area, supplemented by production from our farming neighbours.
